YARD WASTE PICKUP UNDERWAY.  In response to several windstorms and the forecast of early spring weather, the City has decided to begin the yard waste pickup program early this year. City crews will began collections on Monday, March 14. Daily routes will stay the same as last year.  For residents that don't comply with the guidelines, our crews will be placing informational door hangers as a reminder of what the regulations are for this time of year.  For more information on yard waste pickup, please click HERE.

SPRING BREAK SAFETY.  If you're heading out of East for spring break, you'll want to take a few minutes to read these tips from Capt. Brian Williams. 

LAWN CARE CONTRACTORS.  If you will be hiring a contractor for spring clean-up this year or for ongoing yard maintenance this summer, remember that lawn care companies, trash collection vendors and snowplow contractors must obtain a license from the City prior to doing work in East Grand Rapids.  You can check our website to see if your company is already licensed, or ask them to call City Hall at 949.2110 to get the necessary information about licensing.

HUNTINGTON REEDS LAKE RUN.  Join us for the 38th annual Huntington Reeds Lake Run.  You can run or walk a  5K, run a 10K and even run or walk a 5K with your dog.  Back for the third year, we will have a 10K wheelchair & handcycle division.  All runners, walkers, wheelchair and handcycle participants will get a moisture wicking race shirt.  More information

UTILITY POLE WORK.  Consumers Energy will be replacing old electric utility poles throughout the City this spring and summer to maintain reliable service to residents.   The new poles will replace existing poles only. Representatives from CE and its sub-contractors will be contacting residents in advance of the pole replacements.   Some replacements will be limited to poles in front of homes in the right-of-way while others will take place within CE easements in the rear of properties.
