About the Department

The goal of the Finance Department is to provide the highest level of service, at the lowest possible cost, while protecting and managing the financial activities for the City of East Grand Rapids. Our staff, consisting of eight dedicated individuals, performs the following key functions:
  • Primary contact for residents and visitors
  • Assessing and tax administration
  • Accounts payable and payroll services
  • Water and sewer billing administration
  • Information technology
  • Budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, and annual audit completion
  • Investing, pension administration, and insurance services

The Finance Department is located on the main level of City Hall.
