4th of July Parade

The East Grand Rapids Annual 4th of July Celebration!

this year's Celebration.


  • 8:30 am: EGR Community Foundation Reeds Lake Trail Blazer (see route map below)
  • Noon - 1 pm: Parade (begins at Sherman/Wealthy intersection, continues east on Wealthy turns left on Lakeside & ends at Reeds Lake Blvd - see map below)
  • Noon - LATE: Schafer Concessions, What The Truck and Pizza Parliament
  • 1 - 3:30 pm: Family fun including inflatables, airbrush tattoos, balloon animals, face painting.
  • 1:30 - 2:45 pm: Grand City Show Skiers
  • 3:00 - 3:30 pm: Enny Owl, indie folk singer from the UK
  • 8 pm - Dusk: Hark Up Choir and Music performance
  • Dusk: Fireworks over Reeds Lake

All Activities at John Collins Park, unless noted.

  • Parking: Gaslight Village will be alive with activity. We encourage you to walk, if possible, and to plan extra time for parking. If parking on the side of a street, please make sure you are parked legally and not blocking driveways.

  • Pedestrians: There will be thousands of people in the City; remember to pay extra attention for pedestrians and children. Please drive slowly and defensively. 

  • Fireworks: Fireworks can legally be discharged July 3, July 4 and July 5 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 1 a.m. from private property only.  Fireworks are not allowed on any public or school property.  Please use caution and consideration when discharging fireworks at your property.

  • Sparklers: Please remember that sparklers are not permitted in any of the city parks, community center property or school property. 

  • Parade Safety: We ask that parents and guardians keep a special eye on their children to ensure they are at a safe distance from parade vehicles. Volunteers will walk along the curb to hand out candy, so there is no need for children to be near the vehicles.
