Leaf PIckup Reminder Banner

Special Leaf Pickup Reminder

Next week is the last week of fall leaf pickup. Please note, crews begin final pickup at 8 a.m. on Monday morning. We encourage you to have all your leaves out by Monday morning regardless of your scheduled pickup date as this the only way we can guarantee pickup.

Reminder, this is the last leaf pickup until yard waste collection resumes in the spring.

We appreciate everyone's help in ensuring we have a smooth last week of pickup!

Get Ready for Winter

During winter months, city crews are on call 24/7 for the plowing and salting of streets. At night, public safety officers monitor road and weather conditions and inform the Public Works Department when roads become hazardous and crews are dispatched to clear snow.

The priority routes are considered our major streets. These routes are plowed and salted as necessary to minimize slippery road surface conditions. Local road routes include all remaining residential streets. These routes will be plowed after all priority routes have been cleaned. Local road routes are lightly salted, as needed, to control slippery conditions.

As winter approaches, we would like to encourage the residents along the boulevards on Hall Street, Cambridge Boulevard and Plymouth Avenue to discuss with their snow plow contractors to not push the snow from the driveways onto the boulevards. The grass suffers damage from the snow plows and the large snow piles can lead to dead spots in the spring time. We hope to continue to improve the aesthetics of our boulevards and hope residents will assist where they can.
