West Nile Virus

Ongoing mosquito surveillance is revealing an unusually high number of mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile Virus. While there are no human cases reported in Kent County yet this year, these tests lead health experts at Kent County Health Department to believe that a rise in human cases is possible in 2018.

As a precaution, the City is depositing mosquito pellets in all storm sewer catch basins as well as storm water retention areas. Residents are encouraged to follow best practices and heed advice recommended by KCHD, which can be found here
