The East Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department announced it will once again hold its popular Movies in the Park, presented by The Brouwers Agency and Auto -Owners Insurance.
The series, held at John Collins Park, 650 Lakeside Drive SE, features a variety of family-friendly movies from June through September.
“We are fortunate to have beautiful Reeds Lake as a backdrop to our family-friendly movie series,” said Rachel Seese, event coordinator. “This event is perfect for a evening out with the whole family to get out of the house, enjoy the summer weather and spend time together.”
This year’s lineup is:
- June 15 - Top Gun
- July 13 - Peter Rabbit
- July 27 - Sherlock Gnomes
- August 17 - Toy Story
All shows are free to the public and begin at dusk. Snacks are available for purchase; proceeds benefit the KDL teen library programs.
In case of inclement weather – including threat of rain or high winds – the movie will be canceled and rescheduled if circumstances allow. The scheduled rain date is Sept. 14.
Movies in the Park is sponsored by The Brouwers Agency, Auto-Owners Insurance, the East Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Kent District Library – East Grand Rapids branch.
“We are grateful to the Brouwers Agency and Auto Owner’s Insurance to once again sponsor the movie series,” Seese said. “Their support makes it possible for us to bring this community-favorite back again each year.”
