The City Commission is currently in the process of selecting a new city manager after Brian Donovan announced his retirement this past spring. Donovan, who served in his role for 25 years, plans to remain with the city until a new manager is found.
The commission is working with the Michigan Municipal League for the search and have selected five candidates for interviews.
The public is invited to meet the candidates on Thursday, Jan 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the commission chambers for an open house style event. Residents can give input via comment cards or to the city commissioners who will also be in attendance.
Interviews will be held on Friday, Jan. 11. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. in the commission chambers. The interviews will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

Following the final interview, the commission will begin discussions toward hiring a new city manager. All meetings, interviews and deliberations are open to the public.
