The City is excited to announce a partnership with Rent.Fun for the installation of a kayak kiosk for community members to enjoy Reeds Lake. The kiosk is located behind Public Safety at 770 Lakeside Drive SE.
From dawn to dusk, community members can rent the kayaks at $25 for two hours. Additional rental time is available at $5 for 30 minutes after the initial two hours. Stand-up paddleboards will be available to rent at the kiosk in the near future.
Each rental includes an adjustable life jacket and paddle.
How to rent:
- Download the Rent.Fun app and create an account.
- Scan the QR code on the locker to unlock it.
- Remove the equipment and inspect the kayak, paddle and life jacket for any damage.
- Enjoy your paddle. You must always wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
- Return and lock the equipment to the same locker unit and select “end rental” in the app.
Rules:
- Do not leave valuables in lockers.
- You must be 18 years or older to use Rent.Fun equipment.
- Maximum of one person per boat and no pets allowed.
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
- You must always wear a life jacket.
Safety tips:
- Check the weather; do not rent if there is lightning, rain or high winds.
- Stay out of the way of other boats.
- Bring a means of communication, such as a cell phone in a plastic bag.
- Dress appropriately and bring sunscreen and water.
- Wear a life jacket at all times.
