  1. Invasive Species Service Learning Day at Waterfront Park

    East Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation is partnering with Kent Conservation District to control several aggressive non-native invasive species including buckthorn on park property. Treatment will involve cut stump and herbicide application on targeted species that are growing unchecked. Learn about non-native invasive species that alter ecosystem processes in complex ways like making birds sick. We invite all ages out but only allow 18 year olds and up to cut buckthorn and treat the stumps. Work will be led by a strike team member. No RSVP required.
